 
The purpose of  the women's gun safety course is to teach basic firearms handling and safety,  as well as the fundamentals of shooting. These fundamentals build the  foundation for all other levels of shooting. With over 150 women that have  taken this free course, it has proven to be a very successful class offered by  the Auburn Police Department.
Class Information
 This is a one-day  class that is held at the Auburn Police Department from 8am till 12:30pm. The  first hour of the class will be in the classroom where you will learn about  Georgia Law and the basic terminology & nomenclature of a pistol. After the  classroom portion, we go to our outdoor firing range that is located minutes  away from our police department. At the range you will be given safety instructions  and paired up with a shooting instructor. By the end of the class, you will  have been taught the proper way to do the following:
    - Proper  stance
- How  to grip your pistol
- Sight  alignment
- Sight  picture
- Trigger  pull
- Proper  breathing
- How  to load and unload your weapon
- And  of course, how to put rounds on your target!
