Sounding Off the Christmas Season

Enjoy kicking off the season with a live nativity, skating rink, live music and dance performances, help us light the christmas tree, and get photos with Santa with his live reindeer!

Sunday December 1st from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. 



The City of Auburn is proud to be a family-friendly venue for many events throughout the year.  From our "Auburn Ever After" event featuring horse drawn princess carriage rides to our "Sounding Off the Christmas Season" celebration, you will find Auburn is a safe, fun place to celebrate and be a part of the community.

In addition to our events, we offer Community Yard Sales throughout the spring and summer (March - September 2nd Saturday of the month), a Farmer's Market (every Wednesday June through August), the Auburn OWLS (Older Wiser Laughing Seniors) our age 55 and better group (3rd Wednesday of every month) and our Movies at Whistlestop Park.   The movies this year are great!   Please see the movie schedule and list of events below.

May 4 - Auburn Ever After

Auburn Ever After Video

Whether you are a princess or a hero, you will love Auburn's premier kid's event. Offering Princess Carriage Rides, special visitors including Elsa, Anna, Cinderella, Shrek, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty and more (over 30 characters!), this fun event will end with the movie "Beauty and the Beast (2017)" in Whistlestop Park next to City Hall. Free entry - carriage rides will be by ticket only, first come-first served.  We are excited to announce that some of the Star Wars characters may drop in for a visit this year!

July 6 - Independence Day Celebration

5:00 pm

Come and celebrate our Country's Independence!  Family fun, kid zone, food games, music and activities.   Area's largest Fireworks display begins at dark.

October 26th - 26th Annual AuburnFest

11:00 am

Arts, crafts, food, live music, wood turning, and other demonstrations.  We will again host canning, knitting, pie baking and quilting competitions!  Have the best recipe around or the best quilt?  Be sure to be part of this and earn your bragging rights!  Click here for the Rules and Competitor App for the canning, quilting, knitting/crocheting and pie backing competitions

December 1 - Sounding Off the Christmas Season

Ring in the Holiday Season with the City of Auburn! Enjoy food, music, a live nativity, and the ceremonial lighting of Downtown Auburn. Santa will be visiting along with his LIVE reindeer! This is a don't miss event for your family.


December 7 - Auburn's Polar Express

Noon to 3PM

Your favorite characters will be on hand to eat lunch and take photos. Bring school supplies or a non-perishable food item as the price of admission. Al proceeds benefit our local schools and the BC Veterans Resource Center.

Free hot dogs to the first 200 guests! Come eat lunch with the Train Conductor, Cinderella, Elsa, Anna, Shrek, Fiona, Spider-Man, Dead Poll, Sleeping Beauty, Batman, the Grinch along with our special guest: SANTA! Event is free with the donation of a school supply or non-perishable food item.
